On a cloudless May afternoon, Ayo and Dami Smith exchanged vows and celebrated their nuptials under the warm sun surrounded by family and friends. Ayo and Dami’s wedding was a destination celebration, bringing most guests from Nigeria to Central Pa.’s Moonstone Manor. Weddings by JDK was honored to be selected as the Nigerian couple’s event producer!
Having only met the couple once in person prior to the wedding, Weddings by JDK was thrilled to take on this new endeavor of planning essentially all details via telephone from across the world!
With a theme of soft spring blended with an old-world feel, the bride and groom’s vision came to life through vintage furniture welcoming guests to the ceremony, warm colors from the bridal party’s attire, and the venue’s landscape blooming with flowers and lush greens.
From her luscious bouquet to the soft centerpieces elevated by gold and mercury vases, the breathtaking bride could not stop raving about the elegant florals.
Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed a selection of hors d’oeuvres. Favorites included Vietnamese pork meatballs, raspberry barbecue shrimp, and JDK’s signature crab dip. The main entrée followed including an apple harvest salad and seared seasonal fresh salmon.
As night fell, the large draped tent glowed with hues of peach and pink lighting contrasting the dark sky. Guests danced the night away and gathered around the couple as they cut their trendy “naked” cake.
The newlyweds ended their night by running through a tunnel of sparklers formed by family and friends – showing their bright future ahead. Weddings by JDK was honored to help Ayo and Dami celebrate their special day, and wish them the best of luck in their new life together as husband and wife in their native home of Nigeria.
